Wild about Annie

We have been blessed with the SWEETEST babysitter in the WORLD named Annie. She is smart and beautiful and wonderful with the kids. The kids have a wonderful time with her, she makes them do what they are supposed to and helps me around the house - an added bonus! This is the third summer she has spent babysitting for us and now that she is going to be a senior, I hope it will not be her last. We would certainly miss her!

Anyway, Annie's birthday was earlier this week. I took Micajah shopping with me for her present while the girls went with Annie to cheerleading practice. On her birthday, the kids met her at the door (Micajah still in his underpants) and sang "Happy Birthday" to her. I bought a tiny little cake and we sang again to her at Lunch and gave her present to her.

Her sweet mama, Lynn, called and asked me to do her birthday cake. She gave me some ideas and then gave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted. I have to say I think THIS is the cutest cake I've ever done. I'm getting better at decorating with Fondant and if I can find a great (more workable) recipe, I think I will do even better. The pre-made fondant I've tried works well, but tastes HORRIBLE. Oh, well!
